Being a fan of mens streetwear and high end fashion, the collaboration between Louis Vuitton and Supreme was something that I was most definitely excited for, along with every other person that is interested in fashion. This collaboration was something that I was not expecting, as collaborations between designers and streetwear happen very rarely, especially when it comes to Louis Vuitton. The iconic french fashion house is known for doing many collaborations, however they are all with iconic designers or creatives such as Marc Jacobs and the recent Van Gogh inspired collection. Also, back in 2000 Louis Vuitton did once try to sue Supreme for logo similarities. So when the word spread about this collection, the fashion world went crazy with thousands of photos circulating the social media.
I think that the two brands mixed together really well and it doesn't look like a forced collaboration. Supreme and Louis Vuitton blend together seamlessly and fluidly. Also, I think that it is clever that the collection includes pieces that are popular from both brands, for example t-shirts and sweatshirts in Supreme, and the iconic Louis Vuitton keep all bag. I think that this is clever as it keeps both brands true to their origins, whilst including some new designs.
Personally, my favourite items within the collection are the ones featuring the iconic Louis Vuitton monogram print. This print is the oldest and most iconic from Louis Vuitton and it usually how people recognise the brand. So the use of it in collaboration with Supreme adds a modern twist whilst keeping the historical and iconic elements of Vuitton. Here are some of my favourite pieces from the collection:
